Jordan Christian School’s Student Council is comprised of a group of active and conscientious students from each secondary grade who possess strong leadership and teamwork skills. The main functions of the Council are to provide an avenue for communication of student ideas and concerns, raise funds for various causes, and promote positivity and camaraderie among the entire student body. The majority of funds raised by Student Council are used to offset the cost of the secondary year-end trip, sponsor a child through Word & Deed, and donate to various charitable organizations such as Bonisa Mission and Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. The remainder of funds are used to purchase items for the school, which in the past has included a barbecue, popcorn machine, and a variety of sports equipment. Fundraisers hosted by Student Council range from noon-hour specials to all-day events and include:
- Popcorn Fridays – popcorn and other snacks available to all students
- Soup Lunches – homemade soup available to Grades 7-12
- Spring Fling – a day of themed events for secondary students
- Non-Uniform Days – casual attire days for secondary students
- Valentine’s Lunch Box Social – lunches prepared and served between secondary students
- Bake Sales – various baked goods available at open houses to all students and parents
- Flower Sales – poinsettias, bulbs, and cut flowers available to the whole community
